Three-layer air-bubble film is a widespread packaging and insulation material, which, like a two-layer bubble film, is made from high-pressure polyethylene. The structure of this type of film consists of three layers: two layers of smooth strong polyethylene and a bubble layer located between them. Vesicles are divided among themselves, so even if the integrity of one or more bubbles is violated, the others retain air, ensuring the safety of all properties of the film. All three layers are firmly welded to each other, thereby ensuring high tensile strength of the film. From a two-layer bubble film, a three-layer film shows improved resistance to mechanical stress, strength and thermal insulation.

The main functional properties of the three-layer film are:

− protects the cargo from cold or warm air;

− protects the cargo from excessive humidity or excessively dry air;

− protects the product from dust, dirt and corrosion;

− protects the goods from various damages (bumps, chips, scratches, vibrations, various mechanical effects);

− functions of thermal insulation and depreciation.

Three-layer air-bubble film is used for packing large-sized and heavy loads, as well as fragile items that require scrupulousness in the process of transportation and storage (glass, light products (bulbs, lamps etc.), household appliances, electronics, optics, soft and cabinet furniture). In addition, a three-layer bubble film is widely used in construction for insulation of pipes, thermal insulation of walls, for the installation of the floors with heating feature. Three-layer film is used to make covers for the shape of the product to be packed. The film can be fastened with a stapler, wire clips, soldering and by sewing.
